Never done a cyber crop before? Read on and hopefully we can answer some of your questions!

· What is a Cyber Crop?

A Cyber Crop is just like an in person Crop event but it's based online, here on the Faith Sisters forums. On Friday there will be a list of challenges posted. There will also be lots of chat to keep everyone in contact while we're all cropping and having fun

The challenges are key to the weekend, you can print out a copy for yourself on Friday.

Just have you and your cropping supplies ready to start, be near your computer if you can (though some members will run back and forth if theirs is in another room).

The challenges and CyberSisters Crop will have their own forum and gallery sections.

· How do you sign up for the crop?

No Cyber Crop registration is necessary! The Faith Sisters Cyber Sister Crop is open to all scrapbookers! Make sure that you are signed up as a Faith Sisters member by joining the forums and inspiration gallery. (Each has it’s one registration.) Once you have established a Faith Sisters membership just jump in the forum that will open up on Friday and join in the fun!

· Do I have to be around all weekend?

No, not at all. Just join in when you can. You can join in as little or as much as you wish.

· What if I don't have a scanner?

Some members use a digital camera to photograph their work close up, then upload the photo to the Gallery.

Items MUST be uploaded to the correct Gallery in order to claim your points.

· Does it cost anything to join in?

No, the Cyber Crop is totally free!

· How do the POINTS work?

You MUST upload your projects to the gallery in order to claim your points. Layouts must be uploaded to the gallery by 8pm EST Sunday in order to claim the points.

There are 30 challenges and 30 prizes which will be listed on Friday. For each challenge that you complete you will get a point. At the end of the weekend you will be able to tally up your points and decide what prizes you would like to take a chance at winning. If you have completed 5 of the 30 challenges you will have 5 points. You can put all 5 points into the pot for one specific prize or you can put each point in a different pot for the chance at winning several different prizes.

Prize winners will be announced Monday following the Cyber Crop.

Prizes will be listed and shown on Friday.

Don’t forget to uploaded your layouts by 8pm EST Sunday in order to qualify for points!

THE SPOILED UNDER 30 CROWD

My friend from Alaska, Adriane sent this to me today...

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways .... yadda, yadda, yadda.

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way I was going to lay a bunch of stuff like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

1. When I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
2. There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter... with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

3. There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up!

4. We didn't have fancy stuff like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

5. And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

6. We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids' and the graphics were horrible! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

7. When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old lady with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!

8. Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! And there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons!

9. And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove or go build a fire ... imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing or a pan with HOT oil and Real popcorn kernels and shake it all over the stove forever like an idiot.

10. When we were on the phone with our friends and our parents walked-in, we were stuck to the wall with a cord, a 7 foot cord that ran to the phone - not the phone base, the actual phone. We barely had enough length to sit on the floor and still be able to twirl the phone cord in our fingers. If you suddenly had to go to the bathroom - guess what we had to do ..... hang up and talk to them later.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled.

You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

Regards,

The over 30 Crowd

Home From West Virginia and Scrapbooking Contest for You!

Did you know I was gone? LOL!

This week I took my son and drove to West Virginia to visit one of my best friends, Michelle! It was great to go see her and her family and stay with them for a few days. She took me to her AMAZING studio and I was so impressed! The photos on her website don't do this HUGE studio justice at all. Everyone, if you are even anywhere near WV, you HAVE to go stay the weekend, there are rooms and everything!

We scrapped for most of the day on Wednesday and I was working on my album for the Making Memories Challenge at Faith Sisters. This is my first time working with an acrylic album. It was lots of fun! I am really pleased with how it turned out!

Click on the picture to see the rest of the album.

Faith Sisters has a great gift R.A.K. for our contest sponsored by Making Memories for this weeks challenge winner! It is the Fresh Anthology Paint Set and you will be sure to want it for your own! Winner will be based on the use of Making Memories product, creative design and theme. Upload your MM projects in our gallery for a chance to be featured on our blog and win this awesome paint set!

Storm in the Neighborhood

Homes were damaged and tress were knocked down as a strong line of storms moved through the state.

There were at least 17 unconfirmed reports of tornadoes across the middle of the state yesterday.

This HUGE tree fell down in the vacant lot just one house down from ours. Thank goodness it fell down now and not after a new house was build there. The tree fell from the back of the lot, forward and too up the whole expanse of the lot to the front.

Many of our neighbors had damage to their homes. Fences knocked down, and some had their houses bashed in by trees. See the bottom photo of a house just on the block across from us! They had just put the house up on the market to move, now they will have to fix it up instead. :(

We were blessed that the only thing that happened at our house were about 5 trees that broken in half and that were uprooted.

It was an amazing sight to see when the wind started whipping up and we all ran downstairs into an inside closet to wait out the storm. The hail was dime sized and it sounded like the windows were going to break.

We are happy that all is well now.... Just a lot of chain saws going today!

Scraplift Challenge and A Blast from the Past!

Hello!

This week at FaithSisters.com we did a Scraplifting challenge. What you do is choose someone's layout that you love and recreate it for your own. Don't do it exactly the same, but do something that is inspired by it! Here is my layout below inspired by a gal on the FS Gallery!

I used products for this layout by me, my Beach Kit and from Krystal Hartley's Blooming Happiness Kit (some recolored) and her It's a Family Thing kit. The second layout was done with Krystal's It's A Family Thing kit also.

So, this is me when I was 4 just going on 5. I sent this layout to my mom to verify the info on it and she said that it made her morning. I said, oh why? She said that it brought so many memories of me when I was little, flooding back to her. She said that was my look that said, "Yes I am cute but don't bug me because I can get mad easy!" LOL! Ya don't mess with the Karma!
