One of those days ya just wanna!!!!!!

I haven't posted here in a while, I have been so busy with designs for TLC and Faith Sisters that I have neglected my blog.

Sometimes ya just need to post something that isn't all shiney and happy. I am so MAD right now because I waited too long to send in my pages to have them printed into books in time for Christmas before we leave on the 20th. So mad in fact that I started crying and screaming. HEY a girl has got to get it out once in a while, doesn't she? Well, it only lasted for 3 minutes.

Now to figure out WHAT I am going to do. The family expects these books every year. In fact, this is the only thing my mother asks for. Grrrr! I am pretty steamed at myself for waiting too long. Yeah Shanna, I know you are reading this and are not surprised, just SHHH!

Sigh, a person has a right to be sad once in a while, don't they?

Here is a family picture I TRIED to take the other day with my old camera because my newer one is on the blink. It's very dark and blurry, but I thought I better leave you with something semi happy to look at. :|

CABBAGE AND RICE CASSEROLE

So, I had a ton of cabbage left over from when I made Borsht for David's birthday, so I tried this recipe for the first time last night and YUM-O!!!

CABBAGE AND RICE CASSEROLE

1 sm. head of cabbage, washed, drained and coarsely shredded
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
3/4 c. water, divided
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1/4 c. finely chopped green bell pepper
1/4 c. finely chopped celery
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt, or to taste
Dash of garlic powder
3 c. cooked rice
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
3/4 c. shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 c. cracker crumbs or fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. cooked, crumbled bacon

In a large saucepot or Dutch oven, steam cabbage in oil and 1/4 cup water for 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, lightly brown ground beef; drain off fat. Add onion, green pepper, celery, black pepper, salt and garlic powder; mix well. Continue cooking a few minutes until vegetables are tender. Layer steamed cabbage, cooked rice and browned meat mixture in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Pour tomato sauce and remaining 1/2 cup water over all. Top with shredded cheese, cracker crumbs and crumbled bacon.

Bake, covered, in a preheated 325 degrees oven for 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. (Or, simmer, covered, on top of stove for 20 minutes.)

Mackenzie - My iMac

Yes, it's true! I have named my iMac, Mackenzie. Yes, I am getting more and more attached to her everyday, let's just hope that she doesn't let me down. I am still learning all of her tricks and hope to soon be proficient at her iMovies, Garage Band, and all the new graphics software I have installed on her! Here is a recent picture of her, only at just under two weeks old, hehehe!

I'm an iMac!

WHAT HAVE I DONE???

Sooooooo, we have been saving up to get me a new computer for a while now. With doing so much more digital scrapbook designing I needed something more powerful than my laptop. It was driving me crazy trying to design new papers or elements and it taking a good 2 minutes just to have one action do it's job!

NOW, I have a screaming iMac! Why an iMac you say? Well we have been told that it is the best computer you can have if you are a graphics designer!

WELLLLL, it's driving me nutz! So many years of being proficient on a PC and now with the iMac, all the shortcuts are different, the folders are different, the software is different! UGH!

Slowly I am getting used to it! I YOU HAVE AN iMAC and could give me a few tips, I welcome any comments on this post! LOL!

Here is my new baby.... well, she is a BIG baby, 24 inches, lol!
YES, the computer is INSIDE of the monitor! No tower to mess with, I could take this puppy to crops if I wanted to, lol!

ANOTHER Spider! This one's yellow!

Ugh! Ya know, I love South Carolina, but these bugs are DRIVING ME CRAZY! This is the 3rd CrAzY looking spider we have seen now, check a few posts down for the other two... Do you know what kind this one is???

UPDATE: A few hours after posting this, I found this great post-

Writing Spider, Scribbler, Black and Yellow Argiope (Argiope aurantia)
http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/69/
On Jul 25, 2006, melody from Benton, KY
(Zone 7a) wrote:This is a very large and intimidating looking spider, but in reality, it's a great bug catcher, and rarely leaves it's web.

The female's body can be nearly 1 1/2" long not counting the legs. The male, who is rarely seen, is much smaller, between 1/4" and 3/8". He is not as brightly colored, and only has one purpose in life.

The female spins the large web with the distinctive zig-zag down the middle, and is the one people see in their gardens.

While this spider is seen all across the US and southern Canada, it isn't common in the Rocky Mountains and the Canadian Great Basin area.

Because of it's large web, that it maintains by eating it each evening and spinning a new one before dawn, people have come to enjoy them in their out of the way garden areas and co-exist with them easily.

ANOTHER Update: LOOK! We JUST found the male not too far away also!
Another update: It started to rain HARD and I went out to look at my spider. Here she is holding on to her web with her back legs. Too cool!
