Upward Basketball

Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. In addition to basketball, Upward offers cheerleading, soccer and flag football programs to complete your Upward ministry. Upward provides opportunities for all believers, no matter what denomination, to become meaningfully involved in the ministries of your church. They will have the opportunity to pray for your program, coach a team, referee a game, share a devotion, and develop relationships in order to open avenues of ministry to the people of your community who will participate in your program.

Star awards are given to every participant at the end of each practice and game for the purpose of encouraging and building self-esteem of each child. Instead of the outcome of the game, the focus is shifted to the attitudes and efforts of each child on the team or squad.

Here is my little boy with his Upward Basketball team. The pictures didn't turn out very good because of the lighting in the gym... but they are all I have so I used the best ones and used the Gamma Correction on some of the darker photos. They look better printed out than on here with a lower quality resolution.

Note: in the first photo he was actually sick that day but we took him anyway because it was picture day! Also, check out the video at the bottom. Hunter is the one with the white wrist band on! LOL!

Hunter Was Baptised

Two Sundays ago when we were at church, Hunter asked me about the baptismal font. I let him know about it, he immediately told me that he wanted to be baptised. He had asked several month ago and was curious but decided that he was not ready. So after the service we took him to talk to Pastor Johnny and the pastor asked him some questions and told him about baptism. Pastor asked Hunter when he wanted to do this and Hunter said that he wanted to do it the next Sunday. So, he did it! What a sweet boy. He was so excited and pleased all week. Asking us if we were happy! Hunter is so loving and gentle and so sweet at this age. Hunter accepted the Lord, Jesus as his personal savior over a year ago in the AWANA program! I will cherish these times always!

My Baby Lost His FIRST Tooth!!!

At last! His birthday is on March 2nd and he will be 7, and he had finally lost his first tooth! LOL! I am glad that they are starting to fall out because they are looking mighty worn! LOL!

Yesterday when I went to pick Hunter up from school he was so excited. He said "Mommy, mommy, I have some GREAT news! My tooth is loose!!!" I asked him when he first felt that his tooth was loose and he went on to tell me that he was chewing on something and just felt it pop! I asked him if he was chewing on his pencil. I was correct, haha!

When we got home he asked if he could bite into an apple to help get it loose. We did'nt have any apples so I asked him if carrotts were ok. He agreed. I asked him how many he wanted, he said 50! I said, how about a bowl full!

Anyways, that night when David put him to bed, he was working away on his tooth. Ten minutes after he came running out with his tooth in his hand! I couldn't believe it! He looks so precious with a little gap in his smile and you can even tell he has a missing tooth when he talks, hehehe! Here he is after pulling it out and then the next day after the tooth fairy came with a certificate and $1.25!

I HAVE A NEW NEICE!

I am SO stinkin excited! I found out this morning via email (because when they called 6 times, we were already sleeping, lol) that my baby neice, my sisters first baby, was born 6 week premature lastnight! Here is the email I got...

Dear All,

She came almost 6 weeks early, but Jolie Patricia Jones was keen as mustard
to enter the world this morning (5th Feb) at 8.05am. She weighed a petite 4
pounds 3 ounces. Like her dad, she likes to hit the ground running,
although she showed it by being born feet first (ouch indeed!).

Shanna did a super job with broken water to birth in 6 hours. Jolie will
need to stay in hospital 4-6 weeks until she matures enough to take home.

Many thanks to those who have already provided their best wishes.

Regards,
Shanna & Ron & Jolie

I can't believe it! My mom and I are slated to go to Australia to visit them March 20th! Jolie came too early! But if she will be in the hospital for 4-6 weeks, that may be just perfect... My sister and her hubby will have had lots of time with her by the time we get there then my mom and I can cuddle her all we want! Woohoo!

Here are the first pictures!

Look On The Bright Side...

Tonight as I was tucking my little boy into bed we were talking about his day.

You see Daddy had taken him skating for the first time in a few years (only his second time ever) and he was pretty happy with himself.

He said to me, "Mommy, at first I wasn't doing so good and I needed Daddy's help. Then later I was skating by myself and I was so good!"
I told him how impressed I was with him and kissed him goodnight. I said that I loved him and he said the same. He then went on to tell me that he was tired and couldn't talk anymore.

As I started walking out the the room, he turned toward me and said, "Look on the bright side, now we can go ice skating together!"

My heart is full!

What I posted on my message board today...

Dear Team,

I wanted to write and let you all know that this month will be my last month with LP. I have so enjoyed working with each and everyone of you and I hope that we can stay in touch in the years to come!

When a company is in financial trouble they... xxxx ... along the way. This month my commission check was missing a few hundred dollars. I went to log into my instructor account and was shut out of the website. My LP website was also shut down by corporate, therefore I have no way of finding out what is going on, the news, or anything for you.

This month (December 2006) will be my last month with LP as I will be officially resigning by December 31st. If you have any questions please email me privately at ....

Feel free to stay on my http://www.kreativekropping.com/ message board and layout gallery as long as you want! I will keep the LP section up indefinately for your use and I will still have the Kreative Guest area that we can all have fun on playing games and talking about what we love to do, scrapbook!

Love you all, have a Merry Christmas with your families and a successful and full 2007!

In the meantime, I am kreating cool things by some great designers! The following layouts are done with kit by a great designer called Amanda Rockwell! Check it out!

Happy Fall Ya'll

Happy Fall Ya'll

So we have been in Texas since June and it has been an interesting transition! We are not quite settled yet as all of our things are still in storage. Looks like we will not be decorating too much this year!

Eventhough we don't have much right now in our leased home, we have each other. We have lots of laughs, and spend quality time together.

In some ways I am enjoying not having all of my worldly posessions and sometimes I just really wish I could have my leather recliner back, lol! Not to mention my scrapbooking stash!

Did this layout with a combination of Leaving Prints
Digital papers and Memory Mixer Software Elements.

Ok, So we changed our minds...

No, we didn't change our minds about moving. In fact I have been so slack on my blogging (slap my hand) that we have already moved and been here for 3 weeks! So we took a loss on our house in Burbank, so unforseen problems, and so we are starting all over again in Texas. Which is OK because David got a great job that pays him more than his job in Hollywood! We are leasing this really nice home in the same area that we plan to build in. The house is 200sf bigger than our house in Burbank, so we are pretty happy, Also the lease payments are like 1/4 of our mortgage payments in Burbank were, so I think we will be able to catch up very fast. The thing we changed our minds on is which house we are going to build. Well, I keep chainging my mind but now I think I know what I want. (We got our deposit back from the one below, I know it's beautiful) This will be the best for us I think! I will post pictures later if that is the one we are really going to go with, hahaha! In the meantime, now that we are here are I feel better about things, I will try to blog more often! Ciao!

No Lego Land From Me! :o(

OK, so today we were all supposed to go to Lego Land! We were to leave this morning at 7am to drive 3 hours down to San Diego. I went to bed with a headache and woke up with a migrain. I was so sad. I knew if I went then I would be so sick all day and stuck 3 hours away from home and throwing up. I let the boys go together and I stayed at home. Went back to bed.... The DARN dogs kept barking and waking me up so I called them in and made them sleep in my bed. They usually just stay under the covers. Then David calls me at 10:30, I was still sleeping. The phone rings 5 times. Then he calls again because I didn't answer it. Goll, this means that an agent wants to show the house for sure. So, I answered the phone, and yes, an agent wanted to come over in 45 minutes. I was a bit upset because in my condition I would now have to pick up everything that everone else left laying around from the day before. I was felling a little better, so I did that and took the dogs out to my favorite fast food place, Baja Fresh.

Now I am just on here taking it easy because I am off to Dallas tomorrow to pick out all of the colors, floors, cabinets, etc of our NEW HOUSE! Yes! It will be done being built in about October! We are very excited! So, that's what's new. I guess journaling isn't that bad!

I will post Lego Land pics when the boys get home!

Well, I went and picked it up yesterday. When he opened it today he was so thrilled, it fit him like a glove! I managed to snap some award winning shots! Check out my big boy!!!

The French General

Well, it's been a little while since I blogged... life has been hectic! Something to note tonight! we went to a Christmas party at the French General. David works right across the street from them in Hollywood and has also done some work on their website. www.frenchgeneral.com

It is always great to go in there, it smells like lavender and is always so amazing to see all the vintage linens and notions. If you are ever in Hollywood and love these kinds of things, go there and tell them Karma sent you!

They were actually just featured on Martha (Stewart) last week. It was so fun to see them on TV. They have also been featured in Memory Makers magazine and Home Companion. The owner Kaari wants me to come down and hang out with them, lol! I am going to bring my layouts with their vintage embellishments on it. Also, I had gotten a gift home box of embellishments a few years back and gave them to my good friend Sunny who designs scrapbooking product. She used some of it in her diecut designs that Leaving Prints has printed and we sell now! I am going to bring them down to Kaari!
